Welcome to Guernsey's Local Studies and Family History Centre
As Guernsey is celebrating Liberation Day on 9th May, May's Book of the Month is Deutsche Guernsey Zeitung, the newspaper for the forces of German occupation in the Second War.
The Priaulx Library is situated in the island of Guernsey, Channel Islands, and is the world's leading hub for the study of Guernsey family history and local studies.
Access to the Priaulx library and its resources is free, and now you can explore it even after the doors are closed. This unique local studies library and family history and genealogy research centre is full of interesting surprises and we hope that you will enjoy discovering our collections and services.
You can search our online catalogue, request some research, buy a print from our online shop or simply find out ways you can support the work of the library.
We have recently added a new section to our website - Family Focus. This month we are looking at a branch of the Le Marchant family, that of Major-General John Gaspard Le Marchant, one of Guernsey's great sons.
If you would like to find out more, please follow the link or contact a librarian.

The Priaulx Library has its home in Candie House, the magnificent former property of its benefactor, Osmond de Beauvoir Priaulx.
