Guernsey's largest collection of books and newspapers concerning the German Occupation of the island in WWII

The Priaulx Library holds a wealth of material, both published and unpublished, with which to explore the dark days of the German Occupation.  Holdings include books on many aspects of the German occupation; Festung/Fortress Guernsey; newspapers, (the Guernsey Evening Press; The Star and the Deutsche Guernsey Zeitung); journals, (the Channel Island Occupation Society Review and the Monthly Review of the Stockport & District Channel Islands Society).   The book collection encompasses personal reminiscences; official histories and academic studies.  Unpublished material includes diaries; scrapbooks; Red Cross letters; GUNS news sheets; official notices and ephemera.  Photographs, drawn largely from the Carel Toms photographic archive, provide a visual backdrop to the occupation years.
