Hidden Treasures of the Priaulx Library

This exhibition features an eclectic selection of some of the most valuable and unusual items in our collection, along with photographs and images that have not previously been on display. Exquisite painted books from China and Ethiopia, Japanese 19th century woodblock ehon and manga, items pertaining to the life of Sir Isaac Brock, from a donation to the Library from Mrs R Tupper of part of the collection of Henrietta Tupper, Sir Isaac Brock's great-niece, watercolour paintings by Rosa Huyshe nee Brock, a chance to see new pages from both our gorgeous Books of Hours, Sir James' Saumarez' freedom of the City of London, and many images of local Guernsey history interest. The exhibition is free, all are welcome, and will run for the summer. The Library garden is open all week to view the images on display there, while the Library itself opens Monday-Saturday 9.30-5, except for Fridays, when it opens at 10 a.m.
