Harvey family material donated

The Library is very grateful to have received a donation of photographs of Guernsey and Sark with a connection to the Harvey family , of both portrait groups and local views, dating from the 1860s onwards; some have a Canadian link. An early photograph of the prison

The Library would like to thank Mrs Sue Westwood for the donation of a copy of a very interesting photograph of the interior courtyard of Guernsey prison, from c. 1870-80, showing very clearly the garden, with a substantial frame for growing fruit or vegetables, as well as the young Magnolia grandiflora, obviously recently planted , that was to grow into a magnificent specimen, now, sadly, lost…

Imperial War Museum Paintings

The Imperial War Museum have some interesting watercolours and photographs available online . These complement the Priaulx Library's own extensive collection of photographs and ephemera from the period of the Occupation and Liberation of Guernsey 1940-1945.

New stamps

The Library is very pleased to have supplied the images for a super set of stamps issued by Guernsey Post. The six stamps feature images chosen by the artist from the Library’s Carel Toms Collection of photographs. Recent donations 2012

Calling all film buffs! Guernsey Filmmakers has donated to us its archive,consisting of a scrapbook of press cuttings since the club's inception in 1966, which will be kept updated, and an archive of all the clubs on DVD, which can be viewed in the Library (with headphones!).
