November 1791: Foul deeds at the Fallas'

14 November—Daniel Falla, his wife, and daughter are dragged out of their beds, beaten up and robbed by two soldiers from the garrison.

Captain Evan Evans

Famous highwayman, from the Newgate Calendar. 'Clerk to Sir Edmund Andrews, in Guernsey, and later Highwayman in England. Executed in 1708.'

The Seigneur de Domecq

A story of St Martin's, from the Star, October 28 1916. Nicolas de Taulès bought the noble title and estate of Domecq de Précillon in November, 1750, and was admitted as a member of the States of Béarn in the same year.

The portrait is of a sympathizer, Etienne Gibert, Rector of St Andrew, the frontispiece of his biography, published in Toulouse in 1889, by Daniel Benoît, Les Frères Gibert, du désert et du refuge. This book includes the life of his brother Louis, also a Protestant minister, who emigrated to South Carolina.
